Validity-Guided Synthesis of Reactive Systems from Assume-Guarantee Contracts

چکیده
Automated synthesis of reactive systems from specifications has been a topic of research for decades. Recently, a variety of approaches have been proposed to extend synthesis of reactive systems from propositional specifications towards specifications over rich theories. We propose a novel, completely automated approach to program synthesis which reduces the problem to deciding the validity of a set of ∀∃-formulas. In spirit of IC3 / PDR, our problem space is recursively refined by blocking out regions of unsafe states, aiming to discover a fixpoint that describes safe reactions. If such a fixpoint is found, we construct a witness that is directly translated into an implementation. We implemented the algorithm on top of the JKind model checker, and exercised it against contracts written using the Lustre specification language. Experimental results show how the new algorithm outperforms JKind’s already existing synthesis procedure based on k-induction and addresses soundness issues in the k-inductive approach with respect to unrealizable results.

Executable Contracts for Incremental Prototypes of Embedded Systems
In this paper, we advocate for a seamless design-flow for embedded reactive programs. We particularly concentrate on the use of assume-guarantee contracts (as a form of non-deterministic specification) and present how these can be used for early execution of reactive specifications. We illustrate the approach on a case-study taken from an avionic application, trying to show the implications of ...
متن کاملSynthesis from Assume-Guarantee Contracts using Skolemized Proofs of Realizability
The realizability problem in requirements engineering is to determine the existence of an implementation that meets the given formal requirements. A step forward after realizability is proven, is to construct such an implementation automatically, and thus solve the problem of program synthesis. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to program synthesis guided by k-inductive proofs of reali...
متن کاملStochastic Assume-Guarantee Contracts for Cyber-Physical System Design Under Probabilistic Requirements
We develop an assume-guarantee contract framework for the design of cyber-physical systems, modeled as closedloop control systems, under probabilistic requirements. We use a variant of signal temporal logic, namely, Stochastic Signal Temporal Logic (StSTL) to specify system behaviors as well as contract assumptions and guarantees, thus enabling automatic reasoning about requirements of stochast...
متن کاملContracts for Schedulability Analysis
In this paper we propose a framework of Assume / Guarantee contracts for schedulability analysis. Unlike previous work addressing compositional scheduling analysis, our objective is to provide support for the OEM / supplier subcontracting relation. The adaptation of Assume / Guarantee contracts to schedulability analysis requires some care, due to the handling of conflicts caused by shared reso...
متن کاملCompositional Reasoning on (Probabilistic) Contracts
In this paper, we focus on Assume/Guarantee contracts consisting in (i) a non deterministic model of components behaviour, and (ii) a stochastic and non deterministic model of systems faults. Two types of contracts capable of capturing reliability and availability properties are considered. We show that Satisfaction and Refinement can be checked by effective methods thanks to a reduction to cla...
